Ashley Madekwe and Ashley Leggat
Madekwe was born South London, England into an ethnically diverse family. The father of her is Nigerian as well as Swiss and her mother is English. She was raised on a south London council estate and attended The Brit School at age fourteen. She was a student at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London where she gained a BA in acting. She was on stage in many productions while attending school including King Henry V, as Princess Katherine, and Wuthering Heights, as Catherine Earnshaw.
Madekwe began her acting career in the movie Storm Damage. The actress has been an actor on Teachers Doctors Casualty Drop Dead Gorgeous. Madekwe's first film appearance was Woody Allen's Cassandra's Dream (2007), alongside Colin Farrell. The following year, she played Elisha (a BBC Three drama-pilot) in West 10 LDN. Additionally, she starred in Trexx as Ollie and in six episodes of Flipside. The ITV2 drama Secret Diary of a Call Girl was her first appearance in the year 2008 as Bambi. Madekwe also starred as the title character in How to lose friends & alienate people, which was released by Sony Pictures Entertainment the year 2008. Some of her theatre credits include Little Sweet Thing (by Roy Williams) and Flight Path (by David Watson).
Madekwe's US debut was in 2009 when she appeared on the dramatic The Beautiful Life. The drama aired for just two episodes before being removed from The CW. Ashley Davenport was her role in ABC's drama Revenge. Madekwe's departure from the series was confirmed in May 2013. Following two seasons as a main character, she made a guest performance in the very first episode of season 3. Madekwe starred as Tituba in the TV show Salem between 2014 and 2016. Madekwe was married to her long-time love, Iddo. They worked together in the film Secret Diary of a Call Girl. Goldberg also appeared with her on Salem.
Ashley Leggat, an actress nominated twice for a Gemini Award, comes from the large Hamilton family. Her family included the parents Roy and Patty together with four older brothers: Brett, Todd and Bram twins, Rob, and Brett. Ashley's sports brothers played baseball during summers and hockey during winters. Ashley didn't walk, instead she would dance. In the age of two and half she discovered Baby Ballet. Ashley became a dancer since that time. Ashley competed in ballet, jazz and tap in high divisions. The major dance festivals, like International Dance Challenge, Showstoppers 56-7-8 Showtime, Flash Dance, Dance, Dance, Dance and others, have awarded her with the title "top soloist".
