Lita Rossana Ford (also known as Lita Ford) is an American British guitarist, singer, and songwriter who played on the lead guitar of The Runaways - a hard rock band comprised of girls in the early 1970s. The Runaways weren't popular within the United States. However, their fame grew internationally, especially in Japan. Ford enjoyed a lengthy and successful career as a heavy-metal performer after the band split in 1979. She started taking voice classes before releasing her first album 'Dancin' on the Edge'. Ford disappeared for a few decades from the world of rock following the release of both albums. She returned with a bang with her record 'Lita' it was released in the year 1988. It became a huge smash for the track "Kiss Me Deadly," along with the ballad , 'Close My Eyes Forever. However, she only did not last long and disappeared from the scene for several years. Her release of "Black" on the 15th of November 1995, was immediately followed by "Wicked Wonderland', a little over 15 years after. The year was 2016, and her most recent album'Time Capsule'' was released. Guitar Player Magazine has awarded her The Certified Guitar Legend Award.
